How we work it out
We take the wall area (round the room, times the height), take off 1.9 m² for each door and 1.4 m² for each window, and add the ceiling if you paint it. We multiply by the coats, divide by what a litre covers in one coat (about 10 m² on a smooth wall), add 5% for touch-ups and round up to the next half litre. Primer is one coat, at about 11 m² a litre. Then we pick the tins with the least left over, and one big tin over a pile of small ones.
Rough walls, new plaster and a dark wall going light all take more. Bring the numbers to the counter and we check them with you.
